From 31 December 2025, Post Offices will no longer accept cheque deposits over the counter for Lloyds Banking Group customers. As you are no doubt aware there is no Lloyds Bank branch in Tavistock either.
What Does This Mean for You?
If you choose to pay by cheque, we will need to send your cheque securely to the Lloyds Bank processing centre. This involves additional handling and postage costs, so from 1 January 2026, a processing fee of £4.80 including VAT per cheque will apply.
Avoid Delays and Extra Costs
To make payments easier and faster, we recommend switching to one of these convenient alternatives:
Bank Transfer – Direct payment to our client account. You will need to call us to obtain our bank details.
Debit/Credit Card – Secure payment by phone or online.
Why Is This Happening?
The banking industry is moving towards digital solutions to improve efficiency and security. Cheque usage is declining, and these changes reflect that trend.
