Rachael joined the company in 2011 as Operations Manager and has worked alongside Anne Reed on a range of health and social care related cases, gaining particular expertise in Continuing Healthcare funding.
Rachael achieved a BA (Hons) degree in History and Politics from Exeter University before then winning a scholarship with Plymouth University to undertake a Graduate Diploma in Law. She subsequently completed the Legal Practice Course and qualified as a Paralegal. Her previous legal experience includes running a busy personal injury caseload, where she specialised in complex industrial hearing loss cases. She has also worked for the charity, Victim Support, assisting victims and witnesses of crime through the courts process.
Her passion has always been for providing legal advice for the benefit of the elderly and vulnerable in our society and specifically in dealing with mental capacity issues. She believes it is really important to be sympathetic to her client’s needs and offer clear and practical advice. She is thrilled to have joined the Chilcotts Law team and is progressing her legal career within the area of community care legislation and private client following qualifying as a solicitor in early 2018.
Rachael is such a gentle and compassionate person who brings a real warmth and charm to our clients. In her spare time, Rachael enjoys the beautiful Dartmoor countryside and coastal water sports as well as her family life in the locality.
